Video Analysis at Basketball Wales
Jul 19, 2016, 5:23 pm

At Basketball Wales, we use a combination of synergetic video analysis tools provided by AnalysisPro Ltd, to help further enhance our coaching and performance. Video analysis enables us to gain a greater understanding of our training and match performances, by highlighting our own strengths and weaknesses, along with those of our opposition. We recommend all teams to carry out video analysis processes and experience the benefits themselves.

Our tools are provided by the Welsh based Performance Analysis consultancy, AnalysisPro Ltd. They provide a variety of different solutions from IP Cameras, to computerised video analysis software, apps and online sharing and review platforms. Importantly, AnalysisPro have affordable and scalable solutions that can benefit teams with different budget levels. To find out more about AnalysisPro and what they can provide, you can visit their website here: http://www.analysispro.net/

To analyse our performances in depth, we use the Nacsport video analysis software. This allows us to capture video from our camera onto the computer, analyse actions as they happen and also review the statistics and recorded clips back on other devices live during the event. We can also analyse videos which have been recorded directly onto the camera if we don’t do things live.

Once the footage has been analysed using our own customised templates, we can create presentations of our key clips to add notes and drawings onto them to enhance our feedback mechanisms. We can also review our footage and statistics easily with the dashboard and matrix tools that are in the software.

Nacsport gives us a way of systematically breaking down a match or training session to highlight key patterns and results which can then be shared amongst the team.

Sport Wales Recognition Review
Jul 7, 2016, 12:43 pm

The Board of Basketball Wales is pleased to announce that over the past several months we have been working closely with Sport Wales to complete our Recognition Review process.

A number of Board directors have devoted numerous hours to this task, and I am pleased to report that Sport Wales, following their Board meeting in May have confirmed a Basketball Wales conditional recognition status.

Over the coming months Basketball Wales will continue to work closely with colleagues at Sport Wales to meet the conditions that have been set out. We are positive that once we have demonstrated these conditions have been satisfactorily achieved, full recognition will follow.

Basketball Wales would like to sincerely thanks both Gareth Parry and Ian Blackburn at Sport Wales, both of whom have worked closely with members of the Board of BW to help us with this process.

Sport Wales has written directly to British Basketball and FIBA to inform them of the work we have completed over the past months and to confirm our Conditional Recognition status.

Full details of the work to be undertaken by Basketball Wales in the coming months can be viwed here http://basketballwales.com/index.php?downloadreq=57198
